AFW volunteers, Command Pilot Georgia Griffiths and Mission Assistant Colleen Kendall, will provide a pilot briefing on AFW’s good work and great volunteer pilot opportunities.

Georgia Griffiths, founder of G2 Software Systems, Inc., learned to fly ten years ago during a self-proclaimed midlife crisis. She actively volunteers in many capacities for Angel Flight West and as a pilot for LightHawk, which champions environmental protection through the unique perspective of flight. Georgia owns a 2007 Cirrus SR22 GT3 and has flown over 25 missions for Angel Flight West. "I love to fly and I love to help people. I'm going to fly anyway, so why not do both?  And at the end of the year, I appreciate the tax benefit of helping through Angel Flight West," says AFW Command Pilot, Georgia Griffiths.

Colleen Kendall, Angel Flight West publicist, is an aviation writer, editor and publisher of the “Palomar Airport Association News,” and passionate public speaker. She joined AFW in 2007 and loves to fly right seat, especially on AFW missions. “Even though I’m not a pilot, there are many other ways I can help and be part of this terrific hope-giving Angel Flight [West] family."

About Angel Flight

Would you help a small child, ravaged by cancer, who needs specialized lifesaving treatment at a hospital 300 miles away. A father, separated from his family by a hurricane, who wants desperately to be reunited. A domestic-violence survivor longs to start a new life in another city, but who cannot afford to leave. These are just a few of the people we help…and give hope.

More than 10,000 times a year the phone rings at Angel Flight West’s Santa Monica headquarters to request such a flight – a flight of hope.

Each request is someone seeking access to care and treatment that requires transportation they won’t have unless AFW can match them with a private pilot willing to donate a free flight – a flight of hope.
